Running Injury Free with Jeff Galloway

Running Injury Free

Running injury free? Is that possible?? As I touched on in the last installment of Jeff Galloway Blogger Tips (Osteoarthritis and Running: What Are the Facts?) for decades the medical community has approached long distance running with caution.  I know this first-hand from my internship at New York City's Hospital for Special Surgery in 1978.  The prevailing thinking was that knees and marathons were a bad mix.  Don't forget, the "running craze" was just taking root.  Running for recreation only became popular as Steve Prefontaine … [Read more...]

Hop on the #PinItForward Movement

March 9, 2015 By D Marie 68 Comments

This past September, I attended my first big girl blogger conference.  The 6th Annual Type-A Parent Conference was huge on content and equally significant on inspiration.  So much so, that it took me these six months to chew on my favorite takeaway.  Nom, nom, nom. As I sat with my third-grade religion class today, again trying to find relatable, real life examples of The Golden Rule, my half-written blog post flashed in my head.  Though not appropriate or relevant to nine-year-olds, I AM hoping it resounds … [Read more...]

Announcing the Disney Forever Enchanted Keepsake Gown Collection

March 2, 2015 By D Marie 7 Comments

On the heels of last week's Disney Princess Half Marathon, I still have tiaras and tulle on the brain. Most fortunately, Ashdon Brands, located here in New York City, has announced their limited edition collection of gowns for grown ups. Inspired by the upcoming release of the live-action Walt Disney Pictures film "Cinderella," this is a brand that KNOWS classic fairy tales will never die and never get old. Grown up princesses have hopes and dreams too!  Cinderella has been my gal since my mom took me to see her in the … [Read more...]

March 1, 2015 By D Marie 17 Comments

Color and flowers and fairies and butterflies.  The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival annually delivers a whimsical burst of nature and imagination from March until May.  Never has there been a winter when a preview of spring was more appreciated! And probably for that same reason, munching and sipping amongst the flowers sounds sublime.  For me, the hit of the Festival is always the Outdoor Kitchens and their many delectable and enticing goodies.  I thought I'd share my favorites with you.  So, get your feed bag on and let's … [Read more...]

Mickey Mouse Multi-Generational Disney Side @Home Celebration Menu

February 28, 2015 By D Marie 4 Comments

Food, glorious food.  Especially when it comes in black, red and yellow and features mouse ears.  I based my Mickey Mouse Multi-Generational Disney Side @Home Celebration menu choices on my mom's favorites; after all, she is the guest of honor and our very own Steamboat Willie. **  I received free products from Disney Parks and Mom Select to host these Disney Side @Home Celebrations.  My thoughts (and imagination) are my own! Snacks My mom's absolute favorite snack?  Jelly beans!  Luckily, Jelly Belly sells … [Read more...]
