Key West Half Marathon Review: Running in Paradise

January 26, 2020 By D Marie 9 Comments

Southernmost Point Buoy

Done. Miles of training through heat, humidity, then rain, and finally snow. All with visions of the "Margaritaville" ahead. Spending January in southern Florida was attractive enough, but 13.1 miles in Key West a vision. The Key West Half Marathon did not disappoint. Read more about this dream race. As a BibRave Ambassador, I received a free race entry to this race. All impressions (footprints included) are always my own. Key West Half Marathon Review I can now wholeheartedly agree that this race should be on every runner's bucket list. … [Read more...]

With Road iD You’ll Never Run Alone

Running through the Hamptons dunes with my Road iD

I'm not young. But I run. Because I can. Though I normally train with my Run Walk Run group, due to my crazed school schedule, I often find myself heading out onto the road alone. Running through the local preserve, up and down the dunes in the summer heat, or through the snow, I do wonder, "what if?" So, as a BibRave Pro, I jumped at the chance to test drive Road iD. Disclaimer: I received Road iD to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and … [Read more...]

July 28, 2019 By D Marie 1 Comment

This week's Downtown Westfield 5K & Pizza Extravaganza was a smooth one. Run through a charming town settled in 1720, (and 99th wealthiest in the United States, according to Bloomberg), this New Jersey enclave is easily accessible to the Tri-State area. Post-race I can only confirm their slogan: The Downtown Westfield 5K- 18 Years Running and the Pizza's still hot! As a BibRave Ambassador, I received a free race entry to this race. All impressions (footprints included) are always my own. Downtown Westfield 5K & Pizza … [Read more...]

The Runners’ Guide to Pain and TENS Therapy

TENS Therapy for Runners' Pain Relief

Half marathon much? Until this past weekend, my answer would have been a firm no. After running more than 15 halfs in 5 years, I had become sidelined due to a severe injury. Gratefully the Southampton Half Marathon ended that woeful 2-year streak, but not without some, "oh, I remember what this feels like" moments! As predicted, the receipt of my new Avail TENS unit was timed perfectly. Allow me to share my Runners' Guide to TENS Therapy. Omron sponsored this post. I received compensation and an Omron Avail wireless TENS device for the … [Read more...]
