runDisney Charity Groups Program~ A Personal Story
Like many others, I came to the sport of running purely because of a charity that held personal meaning. At the age of 53, running, (let alone 13.1 miles) was not part of my master plan. But life does have a way of challenging those best laid paths, and my family's escalating battle with Autism Spectrum Disorder led me to Autism Speaks. The Walt Disney, runDisney, Special Olympics Connection

The determination, work ethic and grit that these athletes display literally fills your spirit; the words that founder Eunice Shriver pronounced 50 years ago are relevant still: "Let me win; but if I cannot win, let me be brave in … [Read more...]
Red Car Trolley Tidbits
Gotta love vintage. Just as turn-of-the-century jitneys, fire engines, omnibuses and horse-drawn streetcars set the scene on Main Street, U.S.A., the Red Car Trolley graces Buena Vista Street in Disney's California Adventure. Reminiscent of the vehicles that criss-crossed Los Angeles when Walt and Roy Disney arrived in 1923, a ride on this "Hollywood Car" style trolley not only moves you around the park, it directly transports you back to that time and place nearly a century ago. I can't wait to again take passage as a time … [Read more...]
