The dog days of summer are here, and runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series is back for another lap! After a successful inaugural run themed after his master, Mickey Mouse, this year's series is dedicated to that man's best friend- Pluto. For beginners wondering if a 5K distance is in their future, this selection of 3.1 mile walks, runs, walks, or run-walk-runs is made for you. Jeff Galloway 2017/2018 Running Event Guide

April 18, 2017 By D Marie 1 Comment

By now you must know my affinity for Olympian Jeff Galloway; he is THE reason (well, with the runDisney alliance, of course) that I began running at the age of 53. HE is the number one reason I have gone injury-free for the past six years. (The physical therapy background is a distant second.) Watching yesterday's Boston Marathon got me motivated to move things to the next level. I am registered in the local Jeff Galloway Long Island Training Program and I'm ready to run. Which one of the following races will I be seeing YOU at?? JEFF'S … [Read more...]

Welcome to this month's Blogorail Blue Loop. Today we are sharing fun ways to splurge at Disney. Think running a 5K for $80 is a splurge? Think again! Beginning with picking up your bib at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and ending with post-race celebrations, there is temptation aplenty awaiting. In fact, many of these goodies are dangled before you during each event … [Read more...]

Carrie Fisher taught us how. Disney This daughter of Debbie Reynolds ruled her universe with "Girl Power", a still-struggling concept in the infancy of the age of feminism.  Until Carrie, our female heroines donned high-heeled glass slippers, swooned at the sight of danger, and waited patiently for their "prince to … [Read more...]

Narcoossee’s Sunday Waterfront Brunch Review

December 5, 2016 By D Marie 6 Comments

My crew revisits this oasis in Walt Disney World Resort as often as we can; to celebrate a Grand New Year's Eve, to rekindle Romance on Seven Seas Lagoon, and now, to raise a toast or two to the magic with a dear friend.  We just love the everyday brunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but this is ... special. Narcoossee's Sunday Waterfront Brunch is the latest reason (excuse) to chart a course to this serene and beautiful restaurant sitting across from the always-bustling Magic Kingdom. Narcoossee's Sunday Brunch Offered on Sundays … [Read more...]
