After a two year hiatus, this colorful show returned to Frontierland’s outdoor Chaparral Theatre this past June. (It reopened just days before our trip!) As a point of interest, Phil Collins recorded his Academy-award winning movie soundtrack in English, French, German, Spanish (Castillian and Latin American) and Italian. Portions of these 6 versions are used in this international musical.

I never got to see the Tarzan show in Animal Kingdom but it looks like an impressive production. Thanks for the pics.

Hi DisneyMac- I was surprised how different the DLP show was. NO skates, and the emphasis seemed more on the music, and less on calisthenics. Unfortunately, I never got to see the Broadway show for comparison…
Manda says
Believe it or not I've never seen this! I've always missed it or visited when it was no longer running! I can't wait to see it one day because everyone says its so wonderful! 😀

Manda. this was pure luck. We walked right in with no wait, and had no expectations. We were WOWed! I hope you get to see it one summer 😀
Amanda says
Great pictures – it looks like a fun show. The monkeys remind me of the FOTLK show at Animal Kingdom in Disney World! We love that show 🙂

Amanda, The show is certainly colorful and filled with animals! It is no where near the scale or drama of the Lion King show at AK, but it is still a winner!

Debs, Yes- I need a good Phil Collins fix now and then 😀 I had forgotten how good the musical score was for Tarzan.

Beautiful photos! …and interesting bit about the languages. Happy Wordless Wednesday DM!

Hi dizzneemomma- It was interesting that there weren't more multi-lingual attractions. Most everything was in English, with some French, of course!

HI DM, I Love the pictures and I'm dying to get over to DLP. The place looks awesome.. The set looks amazing…
blogging says
Diane, The set is beautiful. It is hard to believe that the theater will only be open for the summer season!! 😀
Diane says
That is too bad…

It is an open theater, and even in mid June, it was CHILLY!!
Mrs. Mommy MouseEars says
This looks like an amazing production! So, just curious…it was mostly in English with some French?
blogging says
Hi MMMEars, This was the only "attraction" that had an even amount of English/French. Otherwise, surprisingly, most of what we saw and heard was very English-friendly!

But DL has Disney's Aladdin! That show is absolute Broadway quality and is hands-down my favorite Park show ever!!
