Sights From Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathons

March 20, 2013 By D Marie 28 Comments

It’s spring- that can only mean it’s time to register for Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend (November 8-9, 2013)!!  Whether you are participating or not, I thought you might like a “runner’s view” of the race from 2012 and 2011:

Awaiting the start…

Wreck it Ralph debuts this past November.

Approaching The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Charging the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Running down the Streets of America.

A “private showing” of the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Lumiere “sets the table” for the ultimate runner’s night out!

Finish in the shadows of Spaceship Earth at Epcot.

Three Disney Parks and one scrumptious Finish Line Party later…  New for 2013 will be the Disney Wine & Dine Pre-Race Taste; a private party at Lights, Motors, Action!ยฎ Extreme Stunt Showยฎ the evening before the half marathon (6:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.).  Featuring Disney Characters, five tastes from the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival (including one “signature sip”) and early 6:00 p.m. entry into Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the $79 price tag might seem a bit steep, but it is oh-so-tempting.  Maybe I’ll bite!  Spring fever??

      Thanks Judy. We need to keep up the positive thinking- it's freezing in the Northeast today, with more snow on the way! ๐Ÿ™ (At least running keeps you warm. :D)

    Yes, that price tag is a bit steep, but it is definitely tempting! I love the rapunzel costume! Did you run with that braid? Wow! I think that would have lost that off of my head within minutes of the start! Very impressive! ~Michaelyn {Mousekatools}

      Michaelyn- can you believe that not only did I keep it on the entire race, but it was so comfortable I didn't even know it was there! It had an elastic that I wrapped around my usual hair clips and it stayed perfectly. Thank goodness for Etsy. ๐Ÿ˜€

    HI there,
    So glad I found your blog! I am also a Disney Runner. I was looking for info on the Pre race taste 2013. I guess it's new this year so there is not much info to be had! I'll keep this site bookmarked now that I found it! ~M

      I'm so glad too! Yes, the Disney Wine & Dine Pre-Race Taste is new this year. (Don't you just love how runDisney is always injecting new surprises into their line-up?!) You may have also read that they will be introducing the next generation of New Balance/runDisney shoes that weekend too. If you'd like a peak into what you can expect for that evening, I would suggest checking out some of the Trip Reports during this year's Disney Social Media Moms Conference; they also held one of their dinner events at Lights, Motors, Action!ยฎ Extreme Stunt Showยฎ. I BET it will be very similar! Have a great race!!
