On With the Show | runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series Begins

May 15, 2016 By D Marie 10 Comments

Everybody neat and pretty?  Then on with the show!!  This Mouseketeer is ready to hit the pavement with Mickey and begin the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon training in the process.  Though I received my virtual ears when watching The Mickey Mouse Club on TV in 1959, I am excitedly anticipating this newest offering from the Disney brand- the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series.

If you are a runDisney veteran, you are likely looking forward to something that will scratch the runDisney itch during the long, hot summer ahead.  With nearly four months between contests- May’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend presented by Pandora Jewelry and September’s Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna- true fans are left chomping at their laces.

If you have never registered with runDisney, this is the perfect, most convenient and economical way to earn your first piece of Pixie Dusted bling!  Whether taking in a pleasant stroll around your neighborhood, counting your first laps at your district’s high school track, or hitting “start” on the dusty treadmill that seconds as a spare closet for your clothes, NOW is your chance at “every mile is magic.”

Choose the 5K virtual race that suits you best:

  • runDisney Virtual Running Shorts – Yellow Shoes  (Complete your 3.1 miles between May 15 and June 1, 2016)
Copyright runDisney
  • runDisney Virtual Running Shorts – Red Pants  (Complete your 3.1 miles between June 5 and June 18, 2016)
Copyright runDisney
  • runDisney Virtual Running Shorts – White Glove  (Complete your 3.1 miles between June 19 and June 30, 2016)
Copyright runDisney
OR walk/run all three 5Ks and earn an additional Running Shorts Mickey Series Medal AND Mickey tumbler!

Each race costs $39, and the series, 9.3 miles, (and those FOUR Finisher Medals) will cost $142.  Each medal will be received by the runner approximately thirty days post race completion.

Hop on the course!  Registration for the first race, Yellow Shoes, is open until May 31st.  (The runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series, as well.)  Each subsequent race is open until the final day of its Completion Timeframe.

Need more motivation?  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the Celebratory Charity for these races.

** Proof of run not required.

Join me at #runDisneyShorts and record the fun.  See ‘ya real soon!!
