The Next, Great Disney First

November 15, 2011 By D Marie 6 Comments

Admit it, Disney fans are always one vacation away from their next, great Disney first.   We’re literally attached to our computers and mobile devices searching for the terms “newly refurbished”, “grand opening” or “inaugural”.  This yearning drives our holiday timetables and household budgets!  Luckily, The Walt Disney Company always provides.  In this past year, my family has had the incredible fortune to knock off many fantastic firsts:

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
Disneyland Resort Paris

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

But, we need to feed the beast, so what’s next?  2012 will serve up the Inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon in Disneyland on January 29th.  How about that: a first for us AND a first for Disneyland, all in one!

So what’s your next great Disney first?  If you have been kicking around the idea of trying a runDisney event, it’s time!  Would you enjoy unique access to your favorite Disney Park?  Just to whet your appetite, let me offer that I had the opportunity to run behind a darkened Tower of Terror at midnight during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon.  How’s that for red meat?  Not sold yet?  Did I mention that we ran across the stage at the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and our images were shown on the jumbo screen!!  Talk about your 15 minutes of fame!

Maybe you still need a nudge.  Disneyland Runners is hosting a giveaway to help energize you and set you on your course.  Thanks to Luna Bar, one of the sponsors of the Tinker Bell Half Marathon, three lucky winners will receive 15 nutrition bars to fuel your Disney passions, whatever they may be.

Have you decided?  What will YOUR next Disney “first-time” be?

Too many to choose from!! I'm definitely dreaming of my first trip to Disneyland Paris, and I can't wait to do the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and the Festival of the Masters! I'll pass on the running events though πŸ™‚

What an awesome year! I am so thankful to have had lots of firsts this year too and I'm ready to plan some new ones. That includes the Disney Half Marathon in 2013. πŸ™‚
