Welcome to those of you joining me from Capturing Magical Memories and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
And so the story goes…
Not content with inspiring hundreds at the annual and infamous Disney Social Media Moms Celebration (if you are arriving from Mary at Capturing Magical Memories, you are in the “know”), the event hit the road last fall to further spread the magic high and low and far and wide across the country. I shared my Top 5 Takeaways from that event, and discussed everything from the presenters to the swag; but my number one highlight then and now is the social aspect of Disney Social Media Moms. Young or old, purple, yellow or white, working or stay at home mom, we are tied together by this pie-in-the-sky virtual world we call Twitter. Or Facebook. Or Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, and whatever the invention of the day might be. Disney gave us the opportunity to meet in the flesh, and to nurture those relationships in a new and special way. Whether reuniting at another blogger conference, guest posting for one another, sharing a meal in a Disney Park, running the next runDisney extravaganza together, or starting a joint business venture, the future is whatever we now make of it. We are empowered by and through each other. That’s a gift, and that’s my story. Disney certainly is the master of storytelling, and because of Disney Social Media Moms Celebration “On-The-Road”, I have my own:
Armed with my gear from the 2012 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration “On-The-Road” Long Island, the smiling begins…
Thrilled to meet Twitter pals before the doors even open. Like @DisneyRoe!
The gang that “met” on Twitter quickly found our “spot.”
Performing our thumb exercises before the presentations begin.
Maria Bailey, the one and only.
@Gary_Jerry exudes Pixie Dust.
Because this is a half-day event, it leaves the afternoon for conversation, laughs, and hugs.
Are you sensing a theme? Don’t forget to bring your smile- it’s as important a trademark as your business card!
And keep an “eye” out for next year!!
I was inspired to give Story: The New Photo App from Disney a whirl while reading my pal and fellow blogger Magical Daddy’s retelling of the April Disney Social Media Moms Conference saga using this new tool. Do you have something to share with friends new and old? “Story. Yours to tell.” I have heartfelt gratitude to Disney Gals Tricia, Rhode Island Mom Stacey, In the Mouse House Gina, Plus the Magic KJ, afropolitan mom Kira, The Northern Mousette Sarah, A New Dawnn Blog Dawn and What’s the Point? Rosanne for the chapters they shared in my story.
** Update: Sadly, the Story App and its support closed September 26, 2014. Dang! I loved that app!!

I also enjoy using Story. I was so excited to see it at #DisneySMMoms and can't wait to see how it evolves.
And you are right, the people is what makes the event specia.
I've read that the app has a few glitches, and did notice that some of my text and the righting of one of my photos changed once I embedded Story, but otherwise it was very easy to use. Even for me!!
I love the Story App! I need to start using that
As Mary said, I hope it becomes more sophisticated over time, but I imagine its simplicity is a big part of the allure. Thanks Kuleen!
Great tips! I absolutely love that little business card holder swag! Thanks so much for sharing what you learned!
Thanks Jodi; as always, writing about these experiences reinforces those lessons learned. I love homework!!
