Lou Mongello Has “102 Ways to Save” at Walt Disney World! {Review}

June 21, 2014 By D Marie 22 Comments

This review for is part of a Magical Blogorail sponsored campaign. Copies of the book were received free of charge for a review. Opinions are those of the reviewer and do not represent those of the author.  Your opinion may vary.

If you have followed the path of Lou Mongello as I have, you probably think of him as “Uncle Lou’; a distant nod certainly to Uncle Walt, but with the same endearing emotions attached.  I’ve only met Lou in passing, but I somehow consider him a trusted friend.  His journey from established attorney in New Jersey to Walt Disney World guru, (his first publication, “The Walt Disney Trivia Book” designated him as so), to award winning Host and Producer of WDW Radio and WDW Radio LIVE Newscast proves that “living the dream” is indeed a way of life.  He is relied on as a Walt Disney World Resort expert, and knows more Disney history, inside detail, and Disneyana factoids than anyone I have come across in my 42 year relationship with Walt Disney World.  Who better to write a comprehensive “101” guide to this park than he??  And who better to explain that 102 Ways to Save Money For and At Walt Disney World is more than just that!

The 1st Annual WDW Radio E-Ticket Event: An Evening with the Secret Society of Historical American Adventurers– with Host Lou Mongello!

I’ve collected many a guide book in the afore mentioned 42 years; from published tomes, to Disney blogs to my own mental file cabinet.  What I love best about Lou’s 197-page guide book is that it is now my one-stop for all planning advice.  From the best days to book the most economical air travel, to where to buy the cheapest gas on or near property, you need not refer to another search engine for information.  Whether you are a first time traveler to a Disney Park, ( see Tip #75- how to save money by packing your own snacks and how to transport them to the park), to a seasoned aficionado, (Tip #62 includes a Bonus Tip: Lou’s Top Ten Favorite Disney Dining Snack Credit Treats), you WILL have an “ah-ha” moment.  Lou includes personal family anecdotes, Disney history tidbits and “Did You Know” segments to ensure you will not only learn but experience Disney magic as he most obviously does!

The 2nd Annual WDW Radio E-Ticket Event: Private Dinner inside The Great Movie Ride

Given Lou’s reputation, it comes as no surprise that 102 Ways to Save Money For and At Walt Disney World is all-inclusive guide to this beloved park. But the money-back guarantee ensures that you will either save money after reading the book, or get your original purchase price returned.  Is there any reason to shop elsewhere??

102 Ways to Save Money at Walt Disney World by Lou Mongello

Disney expert and podcasting pioneer, Lou Mongello, shares 102 ways you can have the most magical Disney vacation without breaking the bank in this comprehensive, detailed, 197-page guide.  102 Ways to Save Money For and At Walt Disney World guide is a MUST HAVE for any family planning toward a Disney vacation.

      I found it far easier to navigate than most every guide book I've read over the years- and they've been many!

    First, I am SO jealous that you attended both of those e-ticket events. 🙂 I know what you mean about Lou and I love this book because his personality shines through and it makes it so personable. So many guides are just technical. This one feels like a friend is helping you plan.

      With most guide books, I feel that if I come away with one solid, usable tip I can justify the purchase price. At this price, it's more of a guarantee!

    I like your thought of an 'ah-ha moment' as this is what I had several times while reading the book! I was pleasantly surprised at how many tips I could use, even after many years of WDW visiting. Nice review! – Lee Beatens
