I Have a Disney Resort Dining Obsession

July 5, 2012 By D Marie 6 Comments

Welcome to those of you joining me from The Disney Babies Blog and those of you just hopping aboard.  I am the Final stop on our Magical Blogorail.

Just ONE obsession?  Although nearly an impossible task, after much serious searching of my Disney soul, I found it; my Disney “jones”.  I’ve written previously that my husband is a restaurateur, and that each and every vacation can be classified as “research”.  To be honest, there was a time that such research was difficult, nearly impossible, to do at Walt Disney World.  Thank our lucky stars for the “Disney Decade” and the dining revolution it brought with it.  Slowly and most assuredly, culinary variety and ingredient quality overtook standard theme park fare.  (Would you believe that in the early 1990’s, the only spot on property for pizza was Capt. Cook’s!)  Through the years, we have been partial to table service venues, and in particular,  Disney Signature Dining.  Nothing caps a wonderful, magical day better than going back to our hotel, putting on a fresh shirt (and some lipstick in my case), and relaxing over a stupendous meal in restaurant chock full of Disney atmosphere; our favorite kind of nightcap.  You too should take the opportunity to leave the parks, take a relaxing monorail or boat ride  to the establishments I list below.   You won’t be disappointed, and you will hardly be leaving the magic behind!

Our favorite Disney Hotel dining spots within the monorail resorts:

–  Narcoossee’s            Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Signature Dining with seafood as a specialty.
Watch Magic Kingdom fireworks from the verandah.
Terrific vantage point of the Electrical Water Pageant.

–  Victoria & Albert’s     Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Signature Dining with impeccable service as a hallmark.
An experience not to be missed.

–  California Grill             Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Signature Dining with a view of the Magic Kingdom second to none.
Sushi and a menu that reflects seasonal specialties prepared in an
                                         open show kitchen.
Fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant viewing.

–  Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show            Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Family-style luau complete with a live show.
Situated at the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon.
                                           Next best thing to Aulani.

No Walt Disney World vacation is complete for my family without one of the above. Obsession?  39 years and counting.  Mangia!

Disney Dining is our obsession too! We love California Grill and try to hit one signature dining spot each trip. We are considering Narcoossee's next trip. We have never eaten there before!
