Disneyland Paris~ Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular

June 26, 2014 By D Marie 12 Comments

My friend and “foreign correspondent” Patrick, @Pippin1964 is back with the news and happenings at Disneyland Paris. Bienvenue !

WHAT’S UP IN PARIS
By @pippin1964, with support from @sonialrt and @ammerzon

“Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular” is a stunt show created by the world famous stuntman Rémy Julienne for Disneyland Paris; premiering with the opening of Walt Disney Studios in 2002. This action-packed 40 minute show is set against the backdrop of a southern France village- Villefranche-sur-Mer, and includes serious pyrotechnics, (if you sit in the front rows you WILL feel the heat), high speed chases and human stunt work.  Though Herbie, The Love Bug, initially was the star of the show, inspiration from the Disney Pixar film Cars 2 brought Lightning McQueen center stage.  Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular was so successful, it was imported to Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Lights, Motors, Action!  Extreme Stunt Show.
Until last year, the Paris show amazed its audience with cars jumping on trampolines and passing over trucks.  Stunt people lept from exploding buildings.  Some changes have been made…

Cars no longer jump over trampolines.
 Nor trucks.

Stunt person falling from the top of a building…  Not anymore.

Car jumps from second floor through an imminent explosion.  This has been removed.
From time to time, the additional stunt person, (“recruited” from the audience), is no longer included in the show.
*DIStherapy does not engage in rumor or supposition, but these candid observations may signal some changes in this attraction in Paris and Orlando.  For now, enjoy the popular Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular while you can!!
Thank you @Pippin1964!  Please return next week for a closer look into “Pixar in Concert”, and then RATATOUILLE!!!!!

Wow! That is a lot of changes! And the removal of a lot of what makes the show so spectacular! My son will be so disappointed if this happens at Hollywood Studios!

Hi Lin! One thing I have learned over the past 43 years: Walt Disney World is ever-evolving! We take an "enjoy it while you can" approach!!

I have to get to Disneyland Paris! Looks like a lot of removals – those sound like they would have made the show more exciting. I wonder if they lost the cast members who could perform these stunts or if insurance/injuries required the changes.

Not sure Sean. I know Patrick was disappointed! I bet the cost of this extravaganza is staggering. We'll see what the Disney's Hollywood Studios version does!
