Disney in Paris~ Spring Edition

May 29, 2014 By D Marie 6 Comments

In the 1960’s, visionary Walt Disney telegraphed that our globe was becoming interconnected in new and significant ways; “it’s a small world”, though sweet and innocent, is profound in its message.  We have more in common with our earth neighbors than we realize.  Nowhere were these kindred passions more obvious to me than in the 20 Days to 20 Years blogger series.  The 20th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris brought together writers and Disney devotees from 12 countries on this one tiny corner of the blogoshere!  I truly cherish these connections still, and welcome guest author, photographer and FRIEND Patrick, @Pippin1964 back to DIStherapy!!

Art Ludique Museum.~ the first world’s first museum dedicated to contemporary art with entertainment roots.

In its worldwide tour, the traveling exhibition “Pixar, 25th Years of Animation” stopped in Paris from November 16th, 2013 to March 2nd, 2014 at the Art Ludique Museum.

It was a unique occasion to discover the backstage of this amazing company.  Drawing and sculpture coming from the Pixar movies were exposed from the very beginning of the Pixar history.  Unique pieces were displayed, helping you to understand how a movie is made.

John LASSETER was everywhere during the visit and especially through his signature on some of the drawings.  The most awesome part of this exhibition was the Zootrope, a carousel with Pixar characters which take life when the stroboscope is on.

The exhibition to see now in Paris: “STAR WARS Identities”.  It’s so popular that every show time is sold out during the weekends, and sold out for three weeks in advance.
Original costumes and models are presented in this exhibition.  It takes place in the new “Cité du Cinema”, created by Luc Besson.

This exhibition is open through June 3rd, 2014.  Access by Metro- Line 13- Station: Carrefour Pleyel.

Wouldn't you? Especially with the scenes from the films playing in the background! I am going to keep an eye open and see if this one swims our way. 😀
