A good three months after our trip to the West Coast, I am still amazed at the level of theming, quality of workmanship, and authenticity of the architecture at Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. Inspired by streets, plazas and buildings from the 1920’s and 1930’s, of the kind that met Walt Disney when he arrived in Los Angeles County, and named after the road in Burbank where Walt Disney moved The Walt Disney Company and studios in 1937, each railing, balcony and marquee has been plussed to transport us back in time; Disney-style. I thought I’d offer you a walking tour and stroll down Walt Disney memory lane.
No matter your age, I bet you too are longing for a by-gone era…
LOVE your pics! Wish I was in Disneyland or CA Adventure right now!
ME TOO Brenda!!
I love this period and was so excited to see Buena Vista Street when we went in August. It far exceeded my expectations – everything was SO gorgeous. Thanks for sharing these with us – definitely makes me want to be there right now!
I couldn't agree more- Disney is takng theming to another level with their new construction! Between Cars Land, Buena Vista Street, and what i have seen Storybook Circus, I think we're looking at a new standard of excellence!!
These are great pictures! I haven't been to Disneyland or CA Adventure in YEARS. Way too long. I love WDW (I live in FL now), but DL will always be my home park. π
Oh, well then you will applaud these great changes to California Adventure; Walt would approve!
Love these pictures! You captured the little details that make it so amazing! I feel like a time traveler strolling down Buena Vista Street in the 30's! Thanks so much for sharing and for joining in on the #WW Blog Hop fun!!
As always Deb, thank YOU for hosting our weekly get-together!!
Beautiful! I love all of the details. I can't wait to see this in person next year!
We'll be watching for YOUR great pictures Melissa!
Love the photos, you have captured Disneyland great! I cannot wait to go again soon.
Thanks Judy- I wish I had taken MORE pictures; so much detail!!
Well, you got me there. Kinda like how the scene where they play the James Taylor song "Our Town" in the movie Cars gets me all choked up. Every time.
I very much alot enjoyed this little tour you took us on – thanks! And I have to say, I really like the word 'plussed'. I'm going to use it 3 times today, and make it my own… ;-D
Ha! I think you're a "plussed" kind of gal anyway. π
I loved all your pics, Donna. Since I have not been to DL I live through your pics.. π Oswald's is great
As I will live through your Florida pix this winter!! π
Great pics! I will get to DL one day π
Thanks Jodi- I know you will!!
We were at CA Adventure last year in the midst of all the construction. So, it's great to see all these pictures as a preview of what we'll expect in a few months. These streets do look like old school LA π
Well then you fully deserve a front row seat!!!!
Like Mary, I haven't seen California Adventure since they finished the construction. It looks like they've done a fantastic job, although I will confess that I'm still not a fan of the red trolley. Reminds me too much of those vehicles trying to make their way up and down Main Street. Everything else looks great though. Can't wait to get my own look this Christmas.
Hi Steve, And I can't even imagine how they will dress it up for Christmas. We'll be anxiously awaiting YOUR photos!
I love your pictures. I love all the details
Thanks Jessica- plenty of detail in DCA!
