runDisney Packing List | A Physical Therapist’s Must-Haves

August 15, 2016 By D Marie 11 Comments

You’ve planned your costume for months. Tutu, tiara, check. Heck, your Tinker Bell Pinterest board is a mile long. Sure, those fairy wings and shoe pom-poms will make for magical race course photos. HOWEVER, it is this injury prevention runDisney Packing List that will get you over the finish line. Keep that smile on your face and Pixie Dust in your step!

Many of these items are obvious. (Unless you are one of the last of the barefoot runners, you will require running shoes for your race!) But the rest may depend on your past trials and errors. Why not skip the boo boos, blisters, and inflamed tendons?  Contrary to popular belief, injury SHOULD NOT be an expected by-product of the sport of running. (Which is why I LOVE runDisney guru Jeff Galloway.)  Take advantage of my 35-years-in-the-making Top PT Tips pointers.

Great list! I do a lot of RunDisney events and I'm always paranoid I'm going to forget something important, so I've developed a similar list myself.

My husband needs this. He actually forgot running shoes last year!! (or maybe it was excuse to buy a Disney pair)

Hence the ingenious relationship with New Balance; back in the day, you were stuck going off-property!! (Smart guy, BTW…)

LOVE this! Racecations really are a different animal, aren't they?! Saving this for the next one, bringing (or forgetting) many of these things can make or break not just the race, but the days after!
