Welcome to those of you joining me from Magik Mouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail.
What’s in a room?
After 40 years, what I expect from a Disney Resort is nothing less than a home away from home; and much, much more than that. I expect and crave that magical connection that I, my siblings and my children have grown up with. It’s all the little things that make things feel right. The greeter at the door saying “welcome home”; the seamless check-in; the bright and polished elevators and banisters. The designer lobby scent. The Hidden Mickeys in the carpeting. But once the RFID Keyless Entry is activated- there it is. Home. Though each Disney Resort has its own personality, there are common threads of whimsy that we simply MUST HAVE before we exhale…
Theming
From bamboo and tikis in the rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Resort to twigs and bunk beds at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney does total theming right. Many of us go to a Disney Resort to “get away”, and that requires the full immersion in motif that Disney has absolutely mastered.

A game of California beach volleyball anyone? (I secretly wondered how many of these plush balls get stuffed into suitcases!)

A pure fairy tale!
Disney Information Channels
No Walt Disney World vacation feels completely right until I watch Stacey and the Top Seven Must Sees at Walt Disney World. “Teamboat Springs? You can throw the whole family in that puppy!” And the WDW Today Walt Disney World Channel 19 Information Channel must loop constantly whenever I am in my room. You?
Towel Animals
Now elevated to an art form, the act of seeking out the towel animal upon returning to the resort room now beats hide and seek as a national pastime.

Hidden Mickeys
Another national pastime. We usually spend a good twenty minutes (after unpacking) looking for anything in our room that could be vaguely construed as a Hidden Mickey. Yes, we have good imaginations, and yes, sometimes we streeeeeeeetch it. But what fun it is.
Hidden Extras
The stuff that money just can’t buy, and are sometimes completely unexpected.

Disney Resort rooms offer something for every sense and sensibility. From the moment you first open the door, there is fantasy and comfort and entertainment. Boy, I hope I get to sleep tonight without my fireworks and lullaby…

I love the Disney resort rooms. I love walking into a great hotel room anyway, and Disney blows them all away. I've been to boutique hotels, but none of them did theming like Disney does.
So, so true!!
I love Disney resort rooms, too. And I am so glad I'm not the only one that has to watch Stacey when first getting to the room. My husband refused to keep it on during our last trip and it just felt weird. lol
Ha! It seems to be a love/hate relationship!! Thanks for stopping in Christina.
