My dad and my children – on their way to the Magic Kingdom (my dad’s favorite park!) after dinner at ‘Ohana |
When Donna first approached me about co-hosting the 40 Days to 40 Years series, I knew right away this was something I just had to be a part of. Disney is all about memories and special family moments for me. What could be better than helping put together 40 years of Disney memories?
Over the last 40 days, I have looked forward to each day’s new guest and their Disney memories. These memories have ranged from first trips as kids, as moms and dads, as newlyweds, as teens and every other stage of life. We have read about the debut of new attractions and theme parks, the start of family traditions and even a look at someone’s excitement about coming to Walt Disney World for the first time from their home park of Disneyland Paris. This series proves that it doesn’t matter your age when you visit Disney, the special moments you experience will be special memories you carry with you for a lifetime.

Our family’s very first character meal & my first trip as a mom |
I am so thankful to everyone who joined in the fun of this series. As I read through everyone’s posts, I laughed, I cried, I reminisced about my own trips and felt happy to be a part of something so wonderful. I could relate to the joy every single person felt on their trips to Walt Disney World. It is amazing when a project like this can bring so many people together from every corner of the Disney community to share their love of Disney. Walt Disney World has changed so significantly over the years but one thing remains the same – the memories and the special moments Disney has created for all of us will live forever in our hearts.
I want to send a special thank you to Donna, for asking me to be a part of this. I have loved every minute of it and must admit I am sad to see it end!
It is so very clear to me just why Beth is so highly regarded in the Disney community. She is a networking powerhouse; she manages her own blog, Pursuing the Magic and the masterpiece that is The Magical Blogorail effortlessly. Her heartfelt Disney stories, memories and photos have touched so many of us and are so relatable. She has been my rock and mentor during the past 2 months, and, above all, is genuine, smart and KIND. Beth is one of the best of the Disney web-based community, and I am so grateful that I can now call her friend.
Please check back on Tuesday for my retrospective look at the series, as well as highlights of the 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney. Thank you Beth, thank you one and all, thank you Walt Disney!!
Thank you so much, Donna! I feel very blessed to have gotten to know you better and have come to call you friend too! You had an amazing idea and I am so happy I could be a part of it. One of these years, I hope to be running in a Disney marathon with you!!
I agree with everything you said Donna. I too have enjoyed reading all the posts and the stories of each year gone by. I have learned A LOT and could relate also. You guys should do it again new theme..or maybe even a part 2 on the year you did, I know I could have said more. lol.
