Move over R2-D2, there’s a new droid in town. This gal remembers seeing Star Wars: A New Hope (remember, there was no “Episode IV” at that time) in 1977 at a theater in Bayside, Queens. It was my first glimpse at my man, Harrison Ford. That attraction has grown through the many years, and though I love a guy in a Fedora, to me he has always been Han Solo. When I heard that Harrison would reprise his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens I went weak in the knees. And I don’t swoon easily…
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS World Premiere
It seems the past few years have been all Star Wars, all the time. For true fans, it is an out-of-this-world development. For others, like me, it’s wait and see. But that does NOT include the reprisal cast.

So I was shocked that there might be room in my Jedi heart for another. You’ll be the first to know. I’m head over heels for BB-8! Though I dressed as R2-D2 for the inaugural Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend, this year I’m planning a BB-8 costume for my upcoming Rebel Challenge. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a hit for old broads like me, but there is plenty of new blood for multigenerational appeal.
