Princess Perks: Senses~ A Disney Spa

October 1, 2013 By D Marie 33 Comments

It's running season!  And birthday time, and anniversary day and momma's respite break and simply no occasion at all.  It's the perfect chance to play princess for a day; a treatment, or half day of even full day of bliss and pampering at Senses~ A Disney Spa.  Located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the more recently opened Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, any one of the full-service spa treatments, signature services or spa packages will leave you wondering if you have been instantly transported on … [Read more...]

Red Car Trolley Tidbits

August 13, 2013 By D Marie 29 Comments

Gotta love vintage.  Just as turn-of-the-century jitneys, fire engines, omnibuses and horse-drawn streetcars set the scene on Main Street, U.S.A., the Red Car Trolley graces Buena Vista Street in Disney's California Adventure.  Reminiscent of the vehicles that criss-crossed Los Angeles when Walt and Roy Disney arrived in 1923, a ride on this "Hollywood Car" style trolley not only moves you around the park, it directly transports you back to that time and place nearly a century ago. But embed this utopia in a Disney theme park, and you have created a literal wonderland for guests of any age.  (In fact, it sure did resemble the '70's to me!)  The Mad T Party, playing nightly in Disney California Adventure's Hollywood Land., is … [Read more...]

Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Dining Must-Dos

July 3, 2013 By D Marie 14 Comments

July means - it's time!  Time to nail down our Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend chow choices and make that magical call to Disneyland Dining (714- 781-DINE).  Most Walt Disney World goers are aware that the Disneyland reservation system differs substantially from that of its cousin; "Priority Seatings" (not ADRs) can be made up to 60 days in advance, and even if you are staying on property, cannot be made for the entirety of your trip starting on Day 60.  (You must call back each day if you want the primo hard-to-get … [Read more...]

Top PT Tidbits to Help Your Sensory Child Love Walt Disney World

May 2, 2013 By D Marie 4 Comments

The Disney Parks; they can be a sensory Wonderland or Hades' Underworld for any child, but especially one that is affected with sensory processing difficulties.  Whether on the autistic spectrum, diagnosed with attention disorders, or simply a "sensitive" child, vacationing to any Disney Park can be a mixed blessing.  More and more anecdotal tales suggests that these children (or adults) can be greatly enriched by the experience.  However, without proper forethought, the pitfalls can be many and challenging.  Any Disney fan … [Read more...]
