2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Preview~ Topiaries

Topiaries!
How is it that my family has not visited Walt Disney World Resort during the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival??  It seems we often vacation in the period immediately before, or directly following the festival dates, and thus we have frequently enjoyed its Topiary Displays, but not the festival in “full bloom”. In fact, most of these displays were visible during Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.  (A majestic bonus, I must say!)

Winnie the Pooh and Friends~ United Kingdom Pavilion
This year, I am giddy to report that I will be returning to the park in two weeks for the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival opening weekend!!!  I thought I’d share my Top “T“ Must-Dos:
  1. The New Kermit the Frog & Miss Piggy Topiary Display; located between the Germany and Italy Pavilions.
  2. The Guess Who kick off the festival- March 7-9; Flower Power Concert Series.
  3. Tinker Bell’s Butterfly House; Imagination Walkway.
  4. Ghost Pepper-Dusted Tilapia with Crisp Winter Melon Slaw, (The New Urban Farm Eats); Smoked Turkey “Rib”, (The Smokehouse); Tango Mango Pale Ale (Pineapple Promenade); Twinings Cold Brewed English Classic with Lemon Grass Syrup, (The Buttercup Cottage); all available at the Outdoor Kitchens.  (Being a super fan of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, I am so anxious to taste as many of this spring festival’s tantalizing offerings as I can!)
  5. Vern Vip- Interior Design presentation; Designer’s Stage Presented by HGTV.
Topiaries and tastings, talent and tulips!!

And to think, you get to see them as much as you want! (We'll have to take a photo together in front of one. :D)

We took our boys (who were 5 at the time) to WDW for the fist time last spring and we were there during the Flower and Garden Show. It wasn't planned, just an awesome surprise. We loved all of the topiaries, especially the Monsters University display. I'm sorry I won't see the Muppets one. I wish I could get there as often as you do. I guess I need to play the lottery! πŸ™‚

I blame it on runDisney Cindy! In fact, my 22 year old said to me last week- how come when we were young we "only" visited WDW once a year?? HOWEVER, I think we are approaching critical mass… Lottery here ww come. πŸ˜‰

Great pictures, and I'm happy to hear they often have topiaries towards the end of February?! My family loves Jan/Feb trips best… so I'll be on the lookout and keep this in mind when picking our next dates. πŸ˜‰

Have a FANTASTIC time during your Festival trip! Yaaaay you!!

Yes- the last two years they were they were there. Some of the larger displays/play areas were still under construction, and the cute, themed food kiosks were in place but covered. Tantalizing, to say the least!!

Thanks Mary. After years of "nipping at its heels", I'm thrilled to see the festival in full; I guess it will be worth the wait now that they added food and drink!

This sounds awesome! I remember being at Epcot during this festival in years past, but I didn't know anything about the Outdoor Kitchens!!
We might have to try and squeak in a visit when our ship is in Port Canaveral next month. We only have a few hours, but it might be worth it.
